Work Hard For The Opportunity To Work Hard

Having not conversed since the writer's strike began, chatted briefly with Kevin yesterday.

We were talking about the strike, the Oscars and the entertainment industry in general...He brought up his friend Miss Fey. Kevin stated that a person at her level of success has had to work for a long-ass time just to get to a point where she has to work extra hard in order to survive in the industry and be creative.

This was a real wake-up call for my mentality. So often I see an endpoint to working hard creatively...To phrase it another way I think the goal is to "rest on your laurels".

I really need to learn that hard work opens up another portal to more hard work...
