"Boogie Nights" was on IFC so I decided to watch it again.
Reminded me of when I saw it in the theater. It was definitely my first week in New York City. I was unemployed at the time so I decided to do something "decadent" and go to an afternoon showing at the Village East Cinemas.
In hindsight I should have been more neurotic about finding a job, but because I was new to the city and my bank account seemed full I was going to the movies in the afternoon.
Sometimes those carefree days of October 1997 seem like a million miles away...
